VIPSquad Ent & the Vision Is Power Network are partnering Jacksonville resident Lala Founta to make a push and help those affected by cancer. To donate, visit The Facebook Donation Page or PayPal.me/LalaE
Lala's experience with cancer began when she was diagnosed at age 26. After successfully battling it into remission in her late 20's, it came back with a vengeance and at 30 years old it had spread through her breasts which she was forced to remove in hopes of fighting off round 2 of her struggle with the invasive disorder. Unable to work and undergoing chemotherapy, it was at this time that Lala's medical bills really started to pile up. Though she had little financial help, her cancer began to go into remission again. Any relief she felt was short-lived, because at 32 she learned the cancer was metastatic, meaning that it had spread to other parts of her body. Doctors informed her at that point that the cancer had made it to her brain, and they gave her only 5 years to live.
At 35 she lapsed into a coma, but fought through pneumonia to be released from the hospital and back to a somewhat normal life until just two months ago when a now 36-year-old Lala suffered a severe stroke, rendering her partially blind in her right eye and without full use of her leg. Needless to say, her medical bills are higher than ever. She is currently in need of financial assistance, and any amount would help! Sadly, she is not the only one fighting the monster known as cancer. That's why we are calling on the local, regional, national, and global community to help Lala and the millions of others with stories similar to hers. Our goal is to raise a total of $10,000, in an ongoing effort to help her cover her medical expenses, including an upcoming surgery on April 9th to install a metal rod in place of damage to her femur caused by the cancer.

Life & Grind: Duval
A brand new cable television series that will air bi-weekly on CW17 Jacksonville in Jacksonville and surrounding areas from southeast Georgia to northcentral Florida. Life & Grind, created and produced by Jacksonville-based hip hop artist and music producer Dez Nado, highlights independent artists, entertainers, and entertainment entrepreneurs making impacts in the community in support of the greater local arts community. What makes the show distinctly unique and refreshingly entertaining is its signature first-hand glimpses into the lives and "grinds" of local entertainers and media as they pursue their dreams.
Entering its 4th season, the show's basis is a select cast of 8 to 10 entertainers and entertainment entrepreneurs who are actively engaged in the pursuit of their dreams. Executive producer Dez Nado recently signed an 8-episode deal to bring the show's upcoming 4th season to the CW Network from the smaller Bounce-Jacksonville network that the first 3 seasons aired on. This move allows for greater visibility of the Life & Grind TV series, which will now be viewable via all cable providers to approximately 80,000 cable TV viewers each airing, in addition to approximately 17,500 viewers who enjoy the Atlanta version of the show Life & Grind: ATL, which premiered on Atlanta's DeKalb-Comcast 25 earlier this year.
The official premiere party for Life & Grind: Duval - Season 4 was held at Candid Poetry Studios in Jacksonville, where supporters, media, and others interested in viewing the show with the cast or getting involved with the buzzing series watched while the show actually taped footage for the current season.
